Back to our roots-hello California

Jett and I had successful flight to LAX Monday night, and I don't even think I developed an ulcer. I sat next to this wonderful couple who had 6 kids (they even told me they were the perfect people to be seated next to), they were amazing and so helpful. Never underestimate the kindness and generosity of strangers!

This lady held Jett for me while I set up my stroller and then rolled my carry on bag down to oversize baggage claim so I could get my car seat. They were such an answer to my millions of frantic prayers. I had been so worried about how I was going to get out of the airport pushing Jett in the stroller, pulling my carry on, wearing a backpack and carrying the carseat and the base. But these awesome people alleviated all that stress for me. I will always look for young moms that need help on flights now.

My parents picked us up and Jett was the main attraction. Seriously though, my parents didn't even hug me, just Jett. Good thing I had him. But then they bought me cafe rio so I just tried to forget about being shafted.

It's so nice to be home, even if it is one if the last times I'll be in my childhood home.

8 months old

It's been a while since I've posted, things have been a little crazy around here. I started a new job where I only work 3 days a month. The training, however, was about 2 weeks, every day. That was the hard part. Juggling my other jobs, taking care of Jett, helping Joe with school, Joe working, and finding baby sitters for Jett was a little overwhelming.

Now I'm done with training and on a more normal schedule,  thank goodness! Our life is still a little crazy but we can handle it.

Since we've moved here Jett has gotten 4 teeth, started to stand, started to walk, barks like a dog and has just gotten progressively more crazy. He is definitely all boy. Any stick, wooden spoon, a bar from our laundry hamper, gets turned into a sword. He waves it around and his stuff, like our lap tops. It's fantastic. It's ok though, we still love him. Good thing he's cute. :)

The boy who gets into everything

This boy is starting to get into everything! His favorite thing to disrupt-the DVD shelf.

Our view

This is the view from our front porch and our bedroom until that tree blooms.

We're here!

We got here on Tuesday and moved in that evening. We drove up a 16 ft Penske moving truck and we had it unloaded in 20 minutes thanks to my friend Jonathan who came over with at least 5 people. It was so great. Then the apartment was a disaster.

Now it's Saturday morning and we are almost completely moved in. It's looking more and more like a home! We even have a couch...well a love seat, a couch would be too big for the space we have. And the best part is we only didn't $50. Yes! Just what we needed. Another little blessing we've received.

This is my first time moving into a place where we were responsible for turning on the gas and electricity. So I got the electricity on but totally spaced it on the gas. So I called first thing Friday morning when I realized my mistake and learned that they turn it on the next business day...which is Monday. So we have no hot water until sometime between 8 -5 on Monday. So we have been showing at friends and cousins places. That's ok though, as long as it is on by Monday.

And we're off! Well...almost

Today is our last day at home. It's bittersweet. We're excited about the new changes and adventures that await us in booming Rexburg (ha...), but we're (ok, it maybe just me) also a little nervous. This is completely different than what we are used to. I've already done the whole college thing and when I got married to Joe I did not think we would ever be going back. I keep telling myself, this will be good. Things will all work out. We're supposed to go. I'm to the point that I almost completely believe it. :)

Things have already started to work out for us. Some little, some big but they all seem to be small confirmations that we are doing the right thing. We're grateful for the blessings that we've received and for the support from our friends, and especially our family. It means a lot to us and we will miss them all terribly.

I decided to make this blog so our friends and family can keep up with us and what we are doing. I'm going to try and keep this blog up to date and hopefully I'll have a lots of exciting things to post. We will be having a lot of new experiences. I just hope we don't experience snow in July.
